About the piece and our interpretation
The Swan, or Le Cygne, is the lyrical cello movement from Camille Saint-Saëns’ The Carnival of the Animals. Its sustained melody unfolds over flowing piano accompaniment. This full concert performance by SwissDuo brings the piece into the setting of AURORIUM, the immersive light show by PROJEKTIL.
Recorded live at Kirche St. Jakob in Zurich in 2023, the video combines architecture and light with Sandi Toka Nova’s cello and Irina Grebaus’s piano.
